We were happy to host Assaf Shocher, an MSc student from the Weizmann Institute, at the SagivTech monthly seminar. Assaf presented a survey of Super Resolution. His lecture spanned classical methods from the 80’s, to the current trending deep learning approaches. It was interesting to learn that for some cases, the Deep learning approaches do not always outperform the classical work. One of the approaches that are currently in active research that were discussed was to combine  pre-deep learning works that use information from a single image, and deep learning works that use information from a large number of images.
